The choice is ours

As of Sept 21rst 2011,

his new strategy of the 4SM calibration process
seems to solve quite some intriguing conflicts,
while getting closer to an acceptable operational solution


Only more seatruth on more images and sensors
will lead us to an acceptable solution
I tend to favour this second solution to the problem,
as it does not imply unpalatable compromises




 
 
The problem only with this second solution
is that the calibration diagram looks odd

This new strategy is applied to an image
which does not meet 4SM's assumptions
  • mostly has fairly dark vegetation over most of the shallow bottoms, apart very limited patches of bright sands
  • might have more turbid waters inside the bay due to  anthropogenic effects
  • is quite low light in the green band
  • has bad Landsat striping
  • does not have any "glint" for us to remove
  • has very few bright beach pixels

Looks like we'got yet another solution,
although Kred~=0.528 m-1 at  WLred~=620 nm
is unpalatable for a TM3 band
