Tide datum and HTide

-Z/MSL0.75D(d)/..........
  • /MSL-1.4.............Mean sea level
  • /CD3.2................Chart datum
  • /HYDRO2.3..........Hydrographic zero
  • /LAT2.0...............Lower astronomical tide

MSL, HYDRO, CD or LAT...to make a note of the Datum for tide heigh
Htide......................... height of tide for tide correction in meters, may be negative
D(d)...........................deliverable    default
Deliverable=0 shall apply   ZDTM=ZDTM+Htide
Deliverable=1 shall apply    Z     =Z       -Htide
cSL
coefficient Soil Line
..../cSL1.18/....
  • In a Red vs NIR bidimensional histogram,
    • the scatter of bare land pixels is averaged to a straight line
    • which we call the Soil Line
  • This straight line runs through
    • the Path radiance La and
    • the Maximum shallow bottom radiance LsM
    • with a slope and an intercept
  • The scatter of bare land pixels in confined inside a cone
  • Shallow.......pixels plot on the RED...side of that cone: the limit is slope*cSL
  • Vegetated....pixels plot on the NIR...side of that cone: the limit is slope/cSL
  • A value of cSL=1.18 is usually suitable
    • although it may be modified in the -Z...argument as required
ZMax
maximum authorized depth when WZ=NIR band
.........../ZMax0.6/...........

.../ZMax0.6
ZMax.........Max retrieved depth in meters for band with highest wavelength, usually a NIR band

Method Z
method for computing Z
..................../PAN_1_4/..............
.........................../RLN_m0_m1/..............

  • .../PAN_1_4
    • metZ=7......Z is computed in Pmode  from band=FirstP   to   band=LastP
    • this is the default
    • FirstP and LastP specify the range of bands to be used
    • bands outside this range are skipped
  • .../RLN_m0_m1
    • metZ=6.....Stumpf et al's ratio log method
    • in 4SM, m0 ~=1
    • in 4SM, m1 must be estimated using the results obtained in the PANmode
  • see tmnov tutorial
Z21
........../Z21/..........
.../Z21..........to enable the estimation of uncertainty on retrieved depth:
shall be written into chS16_DZ
Land
.../Land_4.5..........apply a depth of ZEDland=4.5 m to all land pixels, see what happens

SIGNATURE
(not in use any more, replaced by /RLBgb....)

........../SIG_4w5/............

/SIG_4w5

/S(s)IG_3 for using the bottom signature for a reference spectral soil line, starting with FirstSIG-1

W(w)5 a weighing feature (not in use)

This involves a learning process about the actual spectral soil line

NDR
normalized difference ratio
............../N(n)DR_50_1000_Z(z)DTM/...............
.../N(n)DR_50_1000_Z(z)DTM
  • NDRflag             default=0
  • chS16_NDR       channel to write NDR
  • coefNDR            default =1
  • Z(z)DTMflag      default ZDTMflag=0      to apply ZDTM for water column correction
NEGATIVE BOTTOM CONTRAST
.........../N_3/..........
  • /n_8               default            Negflag=0....................negative bottom contrast is disabled
  • /N_8                                     Negflag=1....................negative bottom contrast is enabled
    • ChNegMin=8
    • to enable negative bottom contrast in the range of bands_1_ to_8

 RLBgb
force a greenish signature in the two_bands case
.........../RLBgb1.33_0.5/............

.../RLBgb1.33_0.5

This rotates the Soils Line, which comes down from LsM, by a factor of 1.33
and is limited by the 0.5 variable
coefZ
final depth correction factor
........../coefZ1.0001/........
  • .../coefZ1.0001
  • all K values are divided by CoefZ:
    • in other words all retrieved depths are multiplied by coefZ
  • default value is 1.00000000000
  • any value not equal to 1 shall be enabled
Mask
........../Mask_4/........
.../M(m)ask_4
  • default Mask=0   no mask is applied
  • .../Mask_4
    • shall only process pixels which are under mSE=4
    • all other pixels are left untouched - actually are replicated
  • see tmnov tutorial
